The project involves roadway and related improvements associated with the construction of separated bike lanes to provide a connection between Capitol Avenue and Farmington Avenue.

Major activities associated with the project include:

  • Constructing one-way separated bike lanes (or cycle tracks) on Park Terrace from Capitol Avenue to Russ Street
  • Constructing two-way separated bike lanes on Sigourney Street from Russ Street to Farmington Avenue
  • Reconstructing relevant portions of Sigourney Street and Park Terrace to accommodate the bike lane installation, including sidewalks, curb lines, drainage structures, lighting, and other appurtenances
  • Traffic signal modifications at the following intersections: Park Terrace and Capitol Avenue, Sigourney Street and Hawthorn Street, and Sigourney Street and Farmington Avenue
  • Mill and overlay of roadways within the project limits
  • New pavement markings and signing within the project limits, including shared-lane markings along Sigourney Street from Farmington Avenue to Niles Street
