Metro Hartford Innovation Services was established in April 2002 by the City Manager. MHIS oversees all information technology initiatives for the City of Hartford and Hartford Public Schools through centralized common shared services.

The MHIS department oversees and guides all technology-related activities associated with technical services, purchasing, and innovative solutions for all city departments and schools. We strive to provide dependable, secure, proven delivery of Information Technology services that enhance operational efficiencies.

Who We Are

Metro Hartford Innovation Services (MHIS) is the central information technology department for the City of Hartford and Hartford Public Schools. We are a trusted steward of information technology governing accessibility, reliability, innovation, aligning digital technologies with citywide and school initiatives.

Charisse Snipes, Chief Innovation Officer

Charisse has professional experience in both the private and public sectors. Charisse has more than 20 years’ of experience in Information Technology and leadership. Charisse holds a MA in Information Technology and Cyber Security, BA in Information Technology, AS in Computer Information Systems, and multiple certifications.
