HARTFORD, CONN (July 5, 2023) – Today, the City of Hartford announced it will be opening cooling centers for residents for the rest of the week, beginning today and ending on Friday, July 7th, due to a forecasted heat wave.  The Hartford Fire Department is also handing out water to residents throughout the city.

“With temperatures reaching the 90s and high humidity, we will once again be opening our cooling centers at library branches throughout the city to help our residents stay safe and cool,” said Mayor Luke Bronin.  “We encourage all of our residents to drink plenty of water, stay out of the sun, and check in on loved ones and neighbors who may be affected by the heat.”
