The Hartford's Apprenticeship Program can set you on course to earn your associate’s degree and credentials for a full-time job in our Claims department handling auto, property, or catastrophe claims in just two years.  Once you earn your associate’s degree and complete your apprenticeship, as a full-time employee of The Hartford, you can take advantage of our tuition reimbursement program by working towards your bachelor’s degree in the evenings. With the help of the American Apprenticeship Grant Initiative, you could graduate without student loans.

ES&T Dispatcher

This is an entry-level trainee position in the field of emergency telecommunications.  Incumbents are responsible for participating in formal classroom sessions, on-the-job training, simulation training and directed self-study in order to acquire and maintain proficiency in the knowledge and skill needed to perform the full range of tasks of an Emergency Telecommunications Operator.


Early Learning Teacher Assistant

Under supervision, provides increasingly responsible administrative assistance within a City department by performing routine assignments in the administration of department activities and by performing responsible professional and technical work in the operation of assigned projects or programs.


311 Constituent Services Representative

Under general supervision, receives and evaluates calls from the general public and from City employees requesting information or non-emergency services. 


Housing Inspector

Under supervision, to assist in the operation of a city public health program by performing systematic surveys and inspections in the promotion of housing hygiene and the conservation and rehabilitation of dwellings, by enforcing adherence to health and housing technical codes.
