Please be advised that the Assessor’s Office is temporarily closed for renovations effective Thursday, April 25, 2024 through Monday, June 10, 2024.

During the renovation period, staff will be available to assist residents from the Tax Collector’s office Suite 106 in City Hall.

Officer Thomas Toohey

Killed in the line of duty on May 15, 1996

Officer Thomas Toohey served the Hartford Police Department for 17 years. On May 15, 1996, he passed away from a heart attack during a narcotics sting operation. After riding a police bike to a parking lot at Webster Street and New Britain Avenue, he collapsed unexpectedly and was pronounced dead at Hartford Hospital.
