The Hartbeat "Adopt Your Block" Trailer is an anti-litter tool lending library. The trailer is made possible by a grant from the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving. The trailer provides tools to complete neighborhood clean-up projects. Tools include rakes, blowers, garbage bags, gloves, etc.
Neighbors get together, pick a location, set a date and the City brings the tools!
Any resident of Hartford can request use of the trailer by organizing a cleanup event with a group of more than 10 people! If your group is going to be less than 10 people, we invite you to reach out to the KNOX Foundation to borrow tools for your event (see 'What other options do I have for a community clean-up?').'
The clean up project must be for a neighborhood or block and cannot be used for private residence.
Groups must work with their neighborhood associations and/or the Office of Community Engagement to coordinate.
After a short orientation, the trailer is dropped off and picked up by DPW on the date of the clean up event. Trailer is only loaned out one (1) day at a time.
