The initiatives were proposed by Mayor Bronin and unanimously approved by the City Council in late November.
$4 MIL FED GRANT TO PROTECT FAMILIES FROM LEAD AND OTHER SAFETY HAZARD Published on October 13, 2022 Today, Mayor Luke Bronin and Senator Richard Blumenthal announced that the City of Hartford has been awarded a $4,055,826 grant over four years from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to protect children and families from lead-based paint and other home health hazards. The grant will help identify and clean up lead sources in the homes of vulnerable families.
$6 MIL FEDERAL URBAN AND COMMUNITY FORESTRY GRANT Published on October 03, 2023 Today, Mayor Bronin, Senator Richard Blumenthal, and Hartford’s forestry and sustainability advocates gathered at Keney Park to announce that the City of Hartford has received $6 million from the USDA Forest Service’s Urban and Community Forestry Grant program, which will be used to implement the Capital Forest Stewardship Initiative.
$800,000 In Small Business Grants, New Application Window Next Year Published on December 10, 2020 Today the City of Hartford, the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, Capital for Change, and HEDCO, Inc., announced that the City and the Hartford Foundation are funding $800,000 in new grants to Hartford small businesses. Earlier this year, those partners along with Bank of America and Travelers launched a $1.25 million Small Business Emergency Assistance Grant Program.
