Officer Francis Fenton

Killed in the line of duty March 28, 1969

Hartford Police Officer Francis X. Fenton was born on March 13, 1924. He was appointed a patrolman with the Hartford Police Department on July 1, 1951. His life came to a tragic end when he was killed while intervening with an armed man threatening a tavern owner on March 28, 1969. He was survived by his wife, Veronica C. Fenton and four children, Thomas, Ellen, Ann Rita, and John.
