HARTFORD, CONN (June 17, 2020) – Today the City of Hartford announced that it will receive a $394,718 grant from the National Foundation for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to support coronavirus response efforts.
“Our Health and Human Services Department has been working closely with the National Foundation for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to secure more resources for Hartford, and yesterday we received notification that we have been awarded approximately $400,000 to assist with our ongoing coronavirus response efforts,” said Mayor Luke Bronin. “The funding will be available to help increase neighborhood testing and community outreach, as well as to help educate and prepare our community for a vaccination campaign if and when a vaccine is developed – which we know will be critical for long term coronavirus response and overall community health. I am very grateful to our Health Director, Liany Arroyo, for her hard work to secure this important funding.”
