The City of Hartford shared cold weather protocol information in effect starting noon Friday and continuing into next week encouraging residents to seek warmth and shelter. Warming centers will be open starting on Friday, January 23 and has been extended until February 5th. The City is also supporting overnight warming centers, which residents can utilize throughout the week.

The goal of the Fire Prevention Division is to prevent and minimize the loss of life and property from fire and other emergencies through comprehensive inspection/code enforcement, engineering and origin and cause investigations that will effectively fulfill the mission of the Hartford Fire Department.
To accomplish our goal, the Fire Prevention Division is led by a Fire Marshal, a Deputy Chief who serves as the City’s Fire Marshal and oversees the Fire Prevention Program. The Division is comprised of two (2) units, the Fire Inspection Unit and Fire Investigation Unit. Each unit is supervised by a Captain who oversees six (6) Lieutenants in providing the following services:
