Golf Course Oversight Commission

This Commission works to ensure that the operation, maintenance, and improvements of Keney and Goodwin Golf Courses meet the expectations of golfers and residents. Commissioners receive and review reports from the City, vendors, and contractors concerning conditions, marketing, capital improvements, and revenues; establish rules and regulations for the use and conduct of the golf courses and related facilities; recommend, to the City Council, a schedule of fees, rates, rentals, and other charges for each golf season; and provide, to the Mayor and Council, an annual written report on the management of the golf courses.

Membership Criteria

All residents

  • 2 members of Friends clubs of Goodwin or Keney Courses
  • 2 members of golf leagues
  • 1 active youth
  • 4 others with experience in public administration, accounting, management, financial analysis, landscape architecture or design or experience as golf professional or certified caddie

In 2017, the Hartford Court of Common Council voted unanimously to utilize a free platform known as www.meetinginfo.org for Boards & Commissions to easily post their meeting agendas and meeting minutes online.
