Commission on Addiction & Public Health

The Commission on Addiction & Public Health coordinates planning, awareness, prevention and education efforts focused on issues associated with substance abuse in Hartford. Commissioners study issues associated with substance abuse and the needs of those affected; assist in building relationships among service providers, law enforcement, schools and other community stakeholders; support growth and expansion of existing services; and review and assess current federal, state, and local policies and recommend new policies that affect long-term solutions to substance abuse issues.

Membership Criteria

1) Individuals with expertise and experience in addressing substance abuse,2) consumers of preventive services, 3) members of treatment and counseling communities, 4) members of law enforcement, and 5) citizens of communities impacted by substance abuse.

Up to 3 non-Hartford residents

 

 

Meeting Information & Materials

In 2017, the Hartford Court of Common Council voted unanimously to utilize a free platform known as www.meetinginfo.org for Boards & Commissions to easily post their meeting agendas and meeting minutes online.
