HARTFORD, CONN (November 18, 2022) – Today, the City of Hartford announced that it will be temporarily activating cold weather protocols and opening a warming center this weekend at the Arroyo Recreation Center at Pope Park, beginning at 8:00 p.m. and ending at 7:00 a.m. every evening, starting this evening and ending Tuesday morning.
“We had an unprecedented stretch of warm weather, but temperatures are expected to drop well below freezing over the next few nights, and we are offering a warming center help our most vulnerable residents keep warm,” said Mayor Bronin. “This warming center can be lifesaving for residents experiencing homelessness, and we encourage anyone in need of warmth to go to our center at Arroyo Recreation Center at Pope Park.”

Dates:
Center will close at 7:00 a.m. the following morning before reopening.
