Commission on Disability Issues

This Commission recommends ways of correcting deficiencies that prevent persons with disabilities from functioning as full citizens by determining areas of need of persons with disabilities and making recommendations to:

  • Correct deficiencies that prevent people with disabilities from functioning as full citizens,
  • Develop procedures for locating and identifying persons with disabilities in Hartford, and
  • Provide advice and assistance to persons with disabilities.

Number of Members: 15

Membership Criteria

  • 7 persons with disabilities
  • 4 reps of organizations serving persons with disabilities
  • 4 relatives of persons with disabilities or active in the community serving persons with disabilities. 

 

 

Meeting Information & Materials

In 2017, the Hartford Court of Common Council voted unanimously to utilize a free platform known as www.meetinginfo.org for Boards & Commissions to easily post their meeting agendas and meeting minutes online.
