Scooter Share in Hartford


The City of Hartford and the Capitol Region Council of Governments (CRCOG) are confirming the news that Superpedestrian, the operator of Link scooters in Hartford, will be ceasing their operations nationwide by the end of the year. While difficult news to share, especially for nearly 800 riders utilizing the company’s LinkUp program, Superpedestrian’s departure is not the end for alternative transportation in Hartford. The City and CRCOG are actively working together to identify next steps for securing a new provider.

Originating from an RFP released by CRCOG in 2019 for regional micromobility, the Hartford program proved to be a strong system, which, during peak riding season, was among Superpedestrian’s best performing markets. The robust performance and high demand for scooter share in Hartford have shown that the capital city has what it takes to bring micromobility back to the region. Since the 2021 launch, there were nearly 500,000 rides and over 920,000 miles travelled on scooters. Rain or shine, Hartford residents and community members were taking scooters to run everyday errands, get to work or school, explore the city, and more. 

At this time, there are no specifics on what the process or policy for refunds will be.
