Hartford to Host Tax Sale

On Monday, June 26th, the City of Hartford will host a tax sale for properties across the city.

The public auction will take place on Monday, June 26th, 9AM - 11AM at the Dunkin’ Park, 1214 Main Street, Hartford CT. Registration opens at 9:00 AM.

Today, Mayor Luke Bronin and Health and Human Services Director Ebony Jackson-Shaheed announced recommendations for Hartford residents in the wake of the Department of Energy & Environmental Protection’s Air Quality Report. With an air quality index in the 150s in the Hartford area, Hartford’s air is currently labeled as “unhealthy”.

$224,000 IN LYB GRANTS FOR NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT PROJECS

Today, the City of Hartford and the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving announced this year’s Love Your Block (LYB) grant recipients, awarded to projects proposed by community members to beautify Hartford neighborhoods. This latest round of grants commits more than $224,000, funding 26 projects in 12 different neighborhoods.

COVID TESTING AT ARROYO RECREATION CENTER WILL END ON MAY 11

Today, the City of Hartford announced that it will be closing its COVID-19 testing location at Arroyo Recreation Center on Thursday, May 11th. The closing coincides with President Biden’s announcement that the U.S. National Public Health Emergency due to COVID-19 will end on May 11th.

HARTFORD DEBUTS $500,000 MICROGRANT PROGRAM FOR MICROENTERPRISES

Today, the City of Hartford announced a new $500,000 Microenterprise Microgrant Program, which will provide businesses that have five or fewer employees with up to $2,500 in funding. Currently-operating microenterprises with five or fewer employees (including the owner), as well as Hartford entrepreneurs seeking to develop a microenterprise, are eligible for this grant funding.

HARTFORD TO BEGIN RESURFACING AND CONSTRUCTION WORK ON MAIN STREET

Today, the City of Hartford announced that it will begin extensive work to resurface, repave, and restripe a stretch of Main Street in Downtown Hartford. The work will begin on April 15th, taking place on Main Street from Gold Street to Wyllys Street and will result in temporary construction disruptions.

Today, Mayor Bronin announced that Health and Human Services (HHS) Director Liany Arroyo will be leaving her position with City, effective April 21st. Director Arroyo has been serving as HHS Director since December of 2017, and will soon begin work as Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer at the Charter Oak Health Center.

Today, Mayor Luke Bronin of Hartford applauded the favorable vote by the General Assembly’s Judiciary Committee on HB 6667, which included legislative recommendations proposed by a Connecticut Conference of Municipalities (CCM) taskforce focused on reducing gun violence by repeat offenders. The recommendations were incorporated into HB 6667, the governor’s bill on reducing gun violence.
