In accordance with City of Hartford Municipal Code Section 29-16, the Hartford Police Department (HPD) is in possession of unclaimed found property. If you have lost property in the City of Hartford, contact the HPD Property Room at 860-757-4180 weekdays 7 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. Please provide a detailed description of the property, the circumstances of its loss, and proof of ownership.
Positive Identification is required before property will be released. Found Property is held for six months after being turned in.

In an effort to continue to provide the best service to the Hartford community, the Hartford Police Department is participating in an on-site assessment as part of a program to achieve Tier I accreditation. Accreditation is a review of agency policies and practices to verify the agency meets the most up to date professional standards.
Administered by the Police Officer Standards and Training Council, the state accreditation program requires agencies to comply with state of the art standards.
As part of the on-site assessment, agency employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments. Please enter the name of the agency in the subject line of the email.
