 The Hartford Police Department is proud to present our first Annual Report. This report includes data tracked by the Police Department and explores some of the challenges we faced as an agency in 2020. The Annual Report also contains information about various bureaus and divisions within the Police Department and the services they provide to the community.

Jason C. Thody

Jason Thody was confirmed Chief of the Hartford Police Department on February 24, 2020. He began his career with Hartford as a Police Cadet in 1996, and graduated from the Connecticut Police Academy in 1997. Since then, he has risen through the ranks from Patrol Officer to Captain, Assistant Chief in August of 2018. Chief Thody started out as a Middletown Police Explorer in 1989 at the age of 14.

"Comstat-or COMPSTAT- (short for COMPuter STATistics) is a combination of management, philosophy, and organizational management tools for police departments. Crime statistics shows the City's crime trends and HPD's predictive and preventative efforts. Our Compstat program is a dynamic and informative presentation.
