MAYOR BRONIN TO UNDERGO SCHEDULED SECOND SURGERY ON MONDAY

HARTFORD, CONN (January 21, 2022) — On Monday, January 24^th, Mayor Bronin will undergo his second scheduled abdominal surgery. This procedure was planned and previously announced, and is a follow-up to the first, more extensive, procedure that Mayor Bronin underwent in early December. Following Monday’s procedure, Mayor Bronin is expected to recover in the hospital for approximately three days and then continue his recovery at home, based on guidance from his doctors. Mayor Bronin expects to remain in regular communication with city staff by phone and email and expects to work from home during his recovery period following the procedure.  

“I look forward to getting past this second surgery and getting back in action again as soon as possible,” said Mayor Bronin.  “I’m deeply grateful to our Chief Operating Officer, Thea Montanez, and to our entire leadership team for their tremendous skill and dedication, and for stepping up once again for the few days that I’m out.”
