CITY OF HARTFORD PUBLIC NOTICE - 06.16.2020

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the federal government enacted the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the coronavirus. The City of Hartford will submit its plan to spend funds allocated to the City through the CARES Act by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) on or before June 23, 2020.

The CARES Act has allocated funding to be spent through the following programs -Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG). Funds allocated to the City of Hartford by HUD: CDBG - $2,185,057; ESG - $3,053,651 and HOPWA - $171,601.

A five (5) day public-examination and comment period will begin on June 17, 2020, for the Substantial Amendment of the City of Hartford’s Five-Year Consolidated Plan for FY 2015-20 and its One-Year Annual Plan for the period July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020.

A virtual public hearing for the purpose of obtaining public comments on the Substantial Amendment to the Five-Year Consolidated Plan and One-Year Annual Plan will be held on June 18, 2020, beginning at 6:00pm, via the WebEx platform before the Court of Common Council. Once signed up, participants will be given a conference number and are asked to call in by 5:40pm to receive further instructions.
