Ethics Commission

This Commission fosters the highest standards of personal integrity, truthfulness, honesty, and fairness, and avoidance of improprieties by public servants, through enforcement of the City’s Code of Ethics. Members must:

  • Enforce the City’s Code of Ethics by investigating allegations, holding hearings, making findings, and recommending disciplinary action to appropriate parties.
  • Recommend legislative action regarding the policies of the Code of Ethics.
  • Educate current and new officers, officials, employees and members of boards, commissions, and agencies about the Code of Ethics.

Membership Criteria

All must be electors of the city. 

 

Meeting Information & Materials

In 2017, the Hartford Court of Common Council voted unanimously to utilize a free platform known as www.meetinginfo.org for Boards & Commissions to easily post their meeting agendas and meeting minutes online.
