Energy Improvement District Board

This board creates a comprehensive plan for and develop and finance various types of energy projects, e.g. renewable resources, cogeneration systems, and microgrids. Goals include:

  • Promote more reliable and secure power supply
  • Provide predictable energy costs
  • Reduce demand in peak hours
  • Encourage development of renewable technology
  • Increase the energy supply to meet demand

Supporting Department: Office of Sustainability

Number of Members:  9 voting members

5 non-voting members- Mayor, Council President, City Architect, City Engineer, Representative of Electric Co. 

Membership Criteria

All shall have education/training and/or 3 years of experience in accounting, business management, consumer advocacy, economics, engineering, environmental management, finance, law, public or government administration, or utility regulation
